Last Updated on Monday, 25 March 2013 16:02

Date : March 30th, 2013 at Noon

Location : 4424 West Cortney Drive, WVC, Utah

Our summer show, Justice at the Gold Dust, will be running select weekends June, July and August. We pay 3% of the house profits.

Please read our article (What can YOU get out of performing in Musical Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre?) to answer any questions about performing Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre with Poison Ivy Mysteries.

Please come prepared to do a cold reading and sing 16 bars. We will be providing a song to download and learn for auditions as well (click here to download). It is a duet for a man and a woman and we need to see how well you can pick up and learn music taught this way. (This show will NOT have sheet music.)

Details for Justice at the Gold Dust:

The town of Silvercrest has dried up along with its gold mine. Madame Rose Doolan is barely ekeing out a living at the Gold Dust Saloon. Local gunslinger, Jesse Joe James follows his own brand of justice and tomboy, Calamity Janet is trigger happy and raring to go. The mayor, Mister Duke Mallory is a true politician. He's crooked and mean. Sadly, formerly prestigious Doc Zeke Holyday is as drunk as a skunk.

Characters:

Rose Doolan: She is the "mature" madame of the Gold Dust Saloon. She still dances and sings but is looking to hire new talent. Her late husband, Bert, left the saloon to her when he died. 30-50. Must sing and dance.

Calamity Janet is the rough, tomboyish cowgirl that was raised by the Indians. She has a thing for Jesse Joe James and is really handy with a gun. Must be able to sing and dance. 20-35

Belle Mallory is a proper lady who is married to the Mayor, Duke Mallory. She is a recent resident to Silvercrest and longs for a more exciting life. Her marriage was forced upon her by her father, a politician from the East. 18-30 Must sing and dance

Mayor Duke Mallory is a politician who is noticeably Belle's elder. He is a fast talker who has only his own inerests at heart. He loves to gamble and is fed up with the locals in Silvercrest. 30-50 Must sing and dance

Doc Zeke Holiday is the local drunk. He used to be a respectable doctor but after Bert Doolan died, he can't live with the knowledge that he might have given him some bad advice and he is responsible for Bert's death. He is just trying to get respect again. 30-50 Must sing and dance

Jesse Joe James is a young and handsome gun slinger who wants to be the sheriff of Silvercrest, if only the Mayor would take him seriously. He views Calamity Janet and nothing more than a pal, even though she clearly wants more. He is a smooth talker and a pretty boy. 20-35 Must sing and dance.
